Information YOU NEED TO KNOW!

  • We only tend to wear 10% of our clothes on a day-to-day basis!

The average person in the UK spends an average of £43.88 on clothes every month, adding up to £526.50 per year.

The sustainable clothing brand Rapanui has multiplied those figures by the current average length of adult life (63.2 years) to calculate that we each spend a whopping £33,274.80 on clothes, when we would only need £6,309.20′s worth if we used them for their full lifespan.

Some women said they regularly wore items on a handful of occasions before putting them away, 1 in 3 said they 'went off clothes after wearing them a couple of times'.

However, trying to own too many clothes can also be unsustainable and overwhelming. A good way to manage the number of clothes owned is to focus on quality items and different wardrobe staples that can be used to create multiple looks.

Hence the use of an Expert Stylist…

  • That £33,724.80 equates to a total of 786 pieces of clothing over a lifetime – 637 of which we don’t need.

149 items in our lives, we could save a staggering £26,965.60.

Researchers found that a “sufficient” wardrobe consists of 74 garments and 20 outfits in total. As an example, they’ve suggested six outfits for work, three outfits for homewear, three outfits for sports, two outfits for festive occasions, plus four outdoor jackets and trousers or skirts.

In the UK alone, the average adult has 118 items of clothing in their wardrobes according to (WRAP). Further exploring how with just the right 33 items in your wardrobe you could potentially make 25,176 unique outfits.

    (CRAZYYY RIGHT, I KNOW)

That number varies depending on lifestyle and season; also some men may have more casual clothes in summer and more formal pieces in winter.

A survey conducted by YouGov of 2,000 men in the UK found that they owned an average of 25 items of clothing.

With all this info why not invest in your wardrobe the right way…
